  • Lifestyle or short term

Is this diet really meant to be used as a lifestyle or a jumping off point for weight loss?

I think it's supposed to be a lifestyle. If you use it only as a jumping off point, you'll balloon up once you stop it. That's kinda the problem with Atkins and Keto. They do give you fast results, but the diets are just too difficult for the average person to keep up with naturally.

That's what I was thinking. I just can't see myself doing this for life. It just doesn't seem natural.

I agree. I would say it's short term. Honestly, I don't know anyone who has ever been on Atkins and was on it for life...it's really just a little to extreme for most people.

I wish all the ultra-low carbs would disappear. They're really not healthy for you and they are hard to commit too. Any diet that makes it hard for you to live a normal life (unless you need to follow it for serious health reasons and its doctor recommended) isn't likely something that's practical for your lifestyle.

Yeah. I mean, lowering your carb intake is important if you want to lose weight, but you don't need to eliminate it to the Atkins degree, if only because so few people can follow this diet normally. I think it's time a new diet started trending that was all about being healthy.

Me, too! Why can't there just be a diet that makes sense and is easy to follow. They all seem so restrictive and complicated!
