I'm thinking about buying a treadmill. Should I get the extra warranty that comes with it?

Should I get the warranty?

Only get the warranty if you think it will be worth while and based on your past experience with other products you've purchased. If you intend to use the machine all the time and will be hard on it, than an extended warranty might make a lot of sense for you. At the same time, if you don't plan on using it a lot, a warranty may not be needed. You may also want to investigate the brand to find out how reliable it's products are. Also, if you are the type of person who tends to replace old equipment with new equipment on a relatively frequent basis, getting a warranty may also be a waste of money.
Ultimately, getting a warranty is always a gamble. You could pay the extra money and be glad that you did or you could pay it and never need it. Or you choose not to get it and the machine breaks...do what feels right for you.

Personally, I wouldn't get the warranty, even if my intention was to keep the machine for a long time. It's always been my experience that every time I buy an extended warranty the item never breaks until the warranty is up, so I always feel like I've wasted money that I could have spent on something else. As BigBobby says getting the extended warranty is a risk and you need to decide if it's one that you're willing to take.
