The New Year is fast approaching and now is the time to start thinking about your resolutions and putting some of them into practice. Over the holiday season, pay attention to what you're eating and how much you're exercising. Think about what you want to change and how you want to go about doing it. Look into different diets and programs and start building realistic goals. Don't just jump into a diet headfirst. You're more likely to fail it if you don't give it some serious thought.

I agree that now is better time to think about your new years goals and not just start them right away. I often find that I do better when I wait until the new year to start weight loss plans. I always find when I try to do it right before Christmas I just set myself up for failure. It's not just too hard to avoid eating all the yummy stuff, but for me my entire routine is thrown off. I'd rather start a fresh goal when I'm ready to get back to my regular scheduled program haha.

I wouldn't actually wait for the new year. I would recommend starting right away. Resolutions never work. No one is ever serious about them. Putting off a diet that you should be starting today doesn't make any logical sense. It's never too early to start making a healthy change in your life, no matter what time of year it is.

I think it's better to wait once all the festivities and parties are done before you start thinking about resolutions. I find I'm never in the right frame of mind for making important decisions at this time of year. Nothing in my life is normal at the moment. My regular routine is messed up and so are my eating habits. If I created a New Year's resolution for myself now, I'd likely convince myself I need to go on some extreme diet that will never work for me. My advice, if you're stressed at the moment, wait until you're thinking clearly before you make any New Year's resolutions regarding your health and weight.

I have to admit that I don't actually believe in New Year's resolutions. I don't think they work. Change happens when you are committed to it. Resolutions typically fail because they are about what you intend to do in the future and don't effect your present. In other words, it's easy to say you'll do something it's entirely another to put your goal into practice and commit to it.
