Tracking your calories is the best way to control how many you eat because it tells you how much your consuming in a day. If you want to limit your intake to 2000, you can figure out what foods work best to help keep you satisfied without breaking your calorie limit.

I was also going to say tracking your calories is the way to do it. It's really the only way to know how much you're consuming and so you can figure out how to cut back without altering your diet too much. Often, it boils down to eating smaller portions, saying "no" to seconds, that sort of thing. You'll also find that adding more exercise to your diet can help and so can following an eating routine to track your hunger patterns and to make sure you aren't starving yourself. I've also found that getting proper sleep is really helpful, too, and drinking water, especially before meals to help me feel fuller faster.
