  • Will I lose more weight with HIIT workouts

If I start engaging in HIIT workouts will I lose weight at a faster rater? Are HIIT workouts hard and do you need to go to a gym to do them? Also, aside from possibly burning more calories are they good for your body at all?

Yes, you can loose more weight. HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training. Essentially it is performing exercises at different intensity in repetition cycles. So, for instance, if you go for a walk, you start off by walking normally for 2 minutes and then you speed up so that you can still comfortably talk for a couple of minutes and then you speed up to the point that it would be difficlut to talk for two minutes and then drop down to your normal pace walk for four minutes and then you repeat the process again. That's not the best example, but it should give you an idea of how HIIT works.

Honestly, I think you'll lose more weight if you just stay committed to exercising. I don't believe in any one style of exercise as the one to rule them all, so to speak. What matters most is that you exercise - do a variety of exercises (cardio, strength training, etc.) and keep doing it consistently. That's how you see the fastest weight loss results. This may mean doing a HIIT routine for you or it might not.

You won't necessarily lose more weight. As freddyboy pointed out, what matters more than any one style of exercise is consistency. You need to exercise regularly for the quickly weight loss results. HIIT definitely has a lot of benefits in helping you get the most out of your fat burning, but how regularly you do it is what really matters.

You can lose more weight with HIIT but you need to be committed to it and do it properly. Like all exercise, there is a way to do it if you want the maximum benefits. HIIT tends to be really good for fat burning and overall weight loss because it is designed to get you to your target heart rate. Many exercises are too slow, so even though you are burning calories, you're not actually burning as many as you could, nor are you really burning fat.
