I know that the popular question is how much weight can you lose in a year, but what i'm wondering is how much weight can you gain? Is it possible to gain 100 pounds or more if you just don't watch what you eat?

Is there a limit to how much weight you can gain in a year?

Sure you can. I mean, I think you'd have to try hard to actually gain that much weight, but I don't think there's an actual limit. Like, if you just ate junk food all day, every day and didn't exercise...yeah, you could get really fat really fast. That said, you'd also have a ton of health problems to go along with it. Is this something you're thinking of trying? hahaa.

Are you asking in terms of fat or muscle? Fat, I'm sure you could really gain a lot...as for muscle you can probably gain about 15 pounds of solid muscle if you really tried hard. Personally, I hope your question is about muscle and not about fat haha. Or at least, if it is about fat, you're not asking because you've got plan to gain a lot of weight lol.
