  • I gained 5 pounds

    I'm so frustrated! I was doing so well on my diet but I'm suddenly gaining weight that I lost back! How did that even happen? I feel like giving up. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can lose the weight again and keep if off this time?

    Aw, don't give up! No matter how frustrated you may feel. I bet most of the weight you gained back was water weight that you can easily lose. Reduce the amount of salt and sugar you're eating and carbonation you're ingesting. Drink water regularly and you'll reduce the water retention. Also, pay attention to the time of the month. If you are a woman who still has her period, you can gain weight during a certain part of your cycle. The other thing I'd recommend is make sure you're getting proper rest and your eating on somewhat of a schedule. The more regular you can make your eating and sleeping habits, the easier it will be to keep the weight off that you lose.

      Christysmiles is right! Don't give up :) You'll lose the weight again. It really is just a matter of reanalyzing your diet. You might want to boost your exercise efforts, as well. Perhaps you are not losing as many calories as you once were and need to make some adjustments.

        There are lots of reasons why you might be gaining weight. It's true that the only way to figure out what the problem is is to pay attention to your diet and make sure your exercising and getting proper sleep. The worst thing you could do is give up, even though I know it might be tempting.

          Thanks for the little pep talk guys. I'm actually doing better. I've lost the 5 pounds again. I paid closer attention to my calorie intake and altered my exercise routine a bit and I've gotten back on track. I've also been watching my salt intake. I think deep down I knew why I gained and how to get rid of it, but I just needed to vent about it LOL.
