  • Digital or dial scale

Which of these scales is more accurate for measuring weight loss? To be honest, I'm really interested in getting a digital scale, but my friend swear by her old-school dial one and says that digital ones are not as accurate. Is she right?

Honestly, they're both fine. One isn't better than the other. It really boils down to preference. Personally, I prefer dial simply because I don't have to keep replacing a battery (I'm lazy that way lol).

Digital scale all the way. I like just seeing the number light up to tell me where I am. Dials are fine, too, but I prefer the ease of just reading digital, especially when I wake up in the morning and don't have my glasses on haha. I can just read the big numbers instead of squinting at the dial lol.

Both scales work fine. My issue isn't which one I prefer but where to put in in my bathroom that it will give me a proper reading...I know this sounds weird, but if I put the scale in different parts of my bathroom floor I get different readings! Anyone know why that might be??

It's probably because your floor slopes (even slightly if you don't notice it). I'd recommend putting the scale in an area where you know the floor is level, this will help with the reading, especially for a digital scale IMO.

I love my digital scale. It's easy to use and the battery lasts forever. I would recommend getting one with a large display :D

I agree the floor is likely on a slope in your bathroom. I would recommend putting the scale in a room where the floors are even to get an accurate reading. You might want it in your bathroom, but you need to be practical if you want to measure honest weight loss results.

Okay. Digital is the way I'm going to go. I'm gonna see if I can grab one on sale on Cyber Monday :D Penny I've never heard of a scale giving different readings like that before...sounds bizarre. I hope mine doesn't do that!

Hope you got a great deal Gina! Also, your scale shouldn't be giving you wonky readings. If that's happening I would return the product.
