I've changed my diet so I'm eating healthier and I've been exercising every day and I'm not losing weight. I actually GAINED a pound this week. What the heck am I doing wrong??

It could be that you're ingesting too many calories. Lots of good-for-you-foods can be high in calories and fat. I would recommend you start keeping track of your calories.

I would also suggest you start keeping track of your calories and I think it may be a good idea to even take a look at your exercise. If you're not exercising for long enough at a certain intensity, you might not be raising your heart rate enough to get in the fat-burning zone. They say that the first 10 - 15 minutes that you walk at a brisk pace, you're only burning calories, not fat. In terms of weight loss there is a big difference between the two.

Well that sucks! I'd hate to think that the better food I"m eating is contributing to more calories. I really hoped that since i changed my diet I wouldn't have to track calories. I hate doing that and I find it such a nuisance. I guess I'm going to have to now though...

Yeah, it really is annoying to have to keep track, but it really is the only way to ensure that you're not blowing your calorie limit. Once you make a habit of it though, it really shouldn't be so bad.

It's true. Keeping track, especially at first is the only real way to know how many calories and fat you are consuming in a day. Only when you know how much you should be getting in order to lose weight, and sticking to this amount, will you see a change when you step on the scale. It's not just about eating healthy food because healthy food can still be high in fat and calories. You will find that after couple of weeks of tracking it will become a lot easier :)

Are you sure that what you gained wasn't water weight? Maybe you're eating a lot of salt or other foods that are causing you to retain water?

This might be true. If I get super bloated, I always feel like I've gained tons of weight and it does affect the scale. I'd recommend not only paying attention to your calories but what you eat, as well. Avoid high salts, carbonated beverages, etc.
