A group of women in my office are all taking part in a weight loss motivation trick. We've all brought in a pair of jeans that we want to be able to wear after losing weight. By the time April 10 rolls around, we all have to wear the jeans for the whole day whether or not we've lost enough weight to make them fit!

That's a great idea! I think that humiliation is probably an even better motivator than just "looking better" or being more healthy. I'm thinking about doing the same thing where I work but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough.

That sounds like nothing more than self-torture, to me. I think you must be a lot closer to the people in your office than I am with the people in mine. I could see "the competition" trying to do a lot to sabotage the other people participating so that they'd have to wear those jeans after eating free donuts every day.

Thanks for all of the comments and funny posts. I've been sharing them with everyone involved in this little competition.
So far it's going really well for most of us. We typically start off every Monday morning with a gripe session about how bad we were over the weekend haha, but then we all motivate each other to get back on track throughout the week.
I'm absolutely positive that I'll be able to fit into my jeans when the time comes. They may be a bit snug, but they'll do up and shouldn't be torture devices all day long haha.
I think I'm only about a size away. Since one size is worth around ten pounds for me, I should be able to have that gone by April 10. I'm getting excited!

None of us had reached our goal by the date so we extended the deadline to April 30. I'm almost at the point that I should be by then. Wish me luck, everyone. I think I'm one of the only people who will almost fit into their jeans (I plan to wear a skirt that day that will fit over the jeans haha).

Well, we did it!
None of us were quite as slim as we wanted to be, but every single one of us got the button done up on our jeans...I wore a long shirt and I can't say the button stayed done up for the whole day, but it was a great challenge!
We're thinking of doing it again (and it should be more effective now that we know how uncomfortable and humiliating it is when you don't reach your goal!)
