I have started to give myself rewards that are self-motivating and will help keep me on track- i.e. buying myself an exercise bike or joining the gym instead of rewarding myself with Mcdonalds or an ice cream cake for dessert.
I am focusing on small rewards for each step and goal reached. For example, reward yourself with a DVD after sticking to the first week of your diet or go to the movies (AND DON'T buy food there!! On second thought, the movies might be too tempting at the beginning - I just bought myself some new nail polish and make up so yeah, stuff like that.)
Also I am going to give myself bigger rewards, such as going to a concert and going on a vacation/weekend trip for reaching long term goals. Like after 20 and 30 lbs lost. Give yourself something to look forward to for a job well done!
