Great motivator: pick a day of the month, and really review your goals and WHY you want to reach them. It’ll get you back on track.

I think that this is a good idea, but if you wait to do it one time every month, you might be waiting too long. The best thing to do is to make a habit of reminding yourself of your goals every single day. Just make sure that you aren’t just reciting them out of habit. Remember what each of those goals are and why you want them. Write them down and read them to yourself, giving each one its due attention, or say them out loud and say it with conviction. You need to use each opportunity to remind yourself of exactly why this is worth all of the effort. If you can’t do it every day, at least do it once per week. Maybe on the day after you weigh yourself, in the morning as you start the day.

I find that it's important not to do the goal review too often. Then you just get immune to it. You need to mean it.
