  • Be happy with your reality

Weight loss can be a real struggle sometimes and there are moments when you feel like you're taking more steps backward than you are forward. Let yourself feel the discouragement. Let yourself feel all the negative emotions and then resolve to find positive and realistic solutions. There's nothing wrong with having feelings of disappointment. They are a part of our life journey. That said, you need to remember that while you and life are not perfect and not always want you imagine or want, that's okay, too. Forgive yourself, accept yourself and move forward. You'll find the happier your are with your reality - what you like and what you don't - the more satisfied you'll be in life and the more like you are to achieve your goals because they'll makes sense to you. Just some zero-cal food for thought. :)

Awesome advice! Being happy with the person you are is always the best goal. Weight loss should be able achieving the best and healthiest version of you, not someone else.

Isn't that the truth. That said, I have no idea how this advice would work for me. I'm one of those people "who wouldn't be happy in heaven." I feel like I'm never content, like once I have accomplished something I want more. I don't really know what my reality is so I always need a goal and then another one. Satisfaction isn't easily attained.

Thanks Penny. I agree with what you said and I do my best to try and be happy with who I am as much as I can. It's not always easy, but at the end of the day I remind myself that I'm stuck with me, whether I like it or not, so I might as well make the most of it while I can :D

Very true. Honestly, in addition to what you said Penny, I really feel like when it all comes down to it, being healthy, being able to walk, being able to eat good food, having a roof over your head and all those other things we so often take for granted, are the things that really matter at the end of the day. Finding satisfaction in the small things tends to leader to a much richer, more fulfilled and positive state of being. It reminds me of the popular saying: "It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you have."
