  • Before and after pictures help

Whether you like taking them or not, it's worth it to take these pictures to track your weight loss progress because it's been found that people draw a lot of motivation from them. This article talks about how B&A photos are the number one thing that helps to inspire people to lose weight. It's quite interesting and I thought I'd share it because I know we can all use a little motivation now and again :D

That makes a lot of sense. I actually really liked that article. Thanks for sharing Beth. It's always nice to see something positive when it comes to before and after pics. For me I have found that the pictures are a source of motivation but they can also be a source of embarassment and harassment when other people see them and add opinions or comments that are negative, rude or just flat out mean. I've finally learned that essentially whatever pictures I take of myself are for my eyes only. No one else needs to see my progress if showing them isn't benefiting me in any positive way.

I dunno...I still really just hate taking these photos. It really is one of those things that works for some people but not for everyone.

I agree. Before and after pictures are a personal choice. They aren't for everyone and that's okay. You need to do what motivates you, regardless of what others might think. There's no harm in trying something, but it's got to be up to you what feels right. Personally, I like taking these pictures because I find them to be a great source of motivation and inspiration for me and other people who are trying to lose weight. I love seeing other people's B&A's too. There is a deep sense of satisfaction and self-accomplishment for me when I look at these pictures and I take a lot of pride in them and find them empowering.

It's true. But it is nice to see that for those it does work for, it does really seem to offer a lot of positive benefits :)

It really does. to be honest, I don't know why so many people waffle back and forth about this one. Either take pictures if you want to, or don't. Taking pictures isn't going to make or break your weight loss success.

I agree. Too many of us overthink this one. If you're debating it too much, just don't do it. If your heart isn't in it, it's a waste of time and is likely to work against you instead of helping. After all, it's not like you have to take B&A photos for weight loss to work.
