  • Be positive

I know advice like "be positive" sounds cliche, but it's actually great advice. I know it's not always easy to be happy, but being happy or positive isn't something that you attain, it's a choice. Granted, it's not always an easy choice depending on the circumstance (and some people can also make it hard) but, ultimately, being positive is (and always is) up to you. Staying positive helps a lot with motivation for anything that you do in your life and this includes weight loss. You're far more likely to experience a better outcome.

I agree with you kellykatt. It's actually really important to be positive when you're trying to lose weight. Feeling down or negative will realllly work against your efforts, because you're far more likely to cheat or quit on your diet or choose to skip exercise, etc.

If you find that you're struggling with positivity, you need to make room in your life for activities you enjoy or that relax you or bring you comfort. This may mean reading a favorite book, watching a favorite show, going shopping, playing a game, going dancing, getting a massage, taking a hot bath, etc. Let's face it, to be positive, you need to be happy and the best way to do that is to do things that make you feel happy!

I think being positive is important, too. However, sometimes I find it's hard to achieve. Are there any foods or supplements that you can eat/take that can help elevate your mood?

Try magnesium. This helps you stay chill and relaxed. I would also recommend vitamin D. And, of course, make sure you never let yourself get dehydrated or too hungry, because this can make you cranky too, so can over-eating sugar. And, of course, getting enough sleep is also very important to staying happy!

Really magnesium? It can actually help you feel calm? Do you take it in pill form or in some other way?
