I know this is a little off topic, but I've found that if I can get a gadget that helps me to continue pursuing a certain goal, then I will do better than I would without it. Apps, software, pedometers, a new scale, etc. It makes keeping up with eating right or exercising a lot more fun.

They are more interactive than just writing things down on a calendar or a diary. I find the feedback motivational.

I love gadgets! The more touch screen options or buttons a device has, the better the odds that I'll use it haha. I also love apps, pedometers, and things like that. I even have a thing that reads my blood pressure and heart rate while I'm out walking. I think I like the instant feedback and the added "interesting" factor. It makes a normal walk into something measurable.

I like gadgets, too. I like to call them do-dahs, though because it drives my boyfriend crazy haha. They give me the instant feedback that I need to make me feel like I'm accomplishing something. For example, if I go for a walk, I know that I've exercised, but if I go for a walk with an app that tells me how many calories I've burned, it gives me some way to put my progress in context!
