  • My quote for the day

I love this quote because it goes for anything in life not just weight loss and it's so true

    One definition of insanity is:
Doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

My father in law used to say:

Dress to please others, eat to please yourself.

I like the English proverb "Don't dig your grave with your own knife and fork."...I guess that means i won't be eating at a lot of English pubs! Really, though, the phrase is a good way of putting things into perspective. Realize the impact that your knife and fork are having on you. are they tools for health or weapons?

Here’s a good quote to keep you on track when you feel like your motivation is starting to fade – in weight loss or in just about anything for that matter. “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” - Thomas A. Edison

I find this one good for keeping me on track “Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess the baggage, the shorter the trip.” It was said by Arnold H. Glasgow. When you think about it that way, it really does make you want to get your act together and lose that “excess baggage”.

I like that one too Jan, sometimes it literally does feel like "baggage" doesn't it?

You're right! And boy do you feel that baggage when you're trying to use the ski machine at the gym haha. I sure wish my baggage had those wheels on the bottom so I could just pull it instead of carrying it along on the fitness equipment. Hopefully I'll be able to check some of it soon and just bring the carry-on

Just think though, your baggage will get less and less each week if you stay on your weight loss program. I used to "spook" myself because I thought something was always right behind me. Turns out something was right behind me- MY BUTT!! Now, since I have lost weight, I don't even notice it anymore. It's great!
