Remember that no matter whether people support you in your weight loss efforts or they don't, ultimately, what you are doing you are doing for yourself and your health and for no one else. Don't be afraid to make the decisions you know you want to make and don't feel that if you make a decision that's good for your health it's going to offend someone else. Even if for whatever reason it does, that is their problem and they need to get over it. Anyone who want to risk your health or who doesn't respect your decision to live a healthful life is not a good person you should be keeping in your life.

I agree with you Jan, but at the same time I also think it's a good idea to listen to people you love and trust if they express concern over what you're doing. Just because you think something is right for you, doesn't always mean that it is. I had a friend who was obsessed with losing weight to the point that she started eating wayyyy too few calories and was exercising all the time. She believed she was doing the right thing for herself but really didn't know when to stop. She almost wound up in the hospital before she got a clue. The point I'm trying to make is that while, yes, you should do what you feel is right for you, don't just ignore the opinions of others who are concerned for your wellbeing.

I think you're right Jan. Too many people have opinions about your life but the only opinion you should listen to is your own. I'm not saying you should listen to or take the advice of someone else, but ultimately whatever you decide it should be your choice and you shouldn't feel you have to make excuses for it either.

Thanks for posting this Jan. I know what you're getting at. People - even those who are trying to help - can be a little too opinionated sometimes and a bit judgmental and you start feeling like you have to justify every choice you make for yourself, even if it effects absolutely no one else.
