  • Practice what you preach

One motto I live by when it comes to keeping myself healthy and at a good weight is that if I wouldn't feed it to my kids, I shouldn't eat it either. In other words, if I don't want my kids to live off junk food and I want them to be active, I should be setting an example and not eating this things and being more active myself.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is think about the healthy living advice that you would offer someone you care about and take your own advice. You wouldn't want someone else to live unhealthy so why should you want this for yourself? Yes, I know its easier said than done to live a certain way, but we can't keep letting thoughts of "this is difficult" or "this is too hard" stop us from doing what we know we should be doing in the first place. It's okay every once in a while to just let go, but for the most part, we can't allow ourselves to get away with bad habits simply because we're too tired, too stressed, too bored or whatever.

Practice what you preach and you might find that you'll be happier and more satisfied with your life in many ways.

That's the best advice! We would probably all lose a lot of weight and live healthier lifestyles if we all weren't a bunch of hypocrites LOL

It's so true! if you're aren't going to live by it yourself, then you shouldn't be offering the advice to others. Often if we live by what we believe in, we are just generally happy and better off. Maybe instead of listening to the media and know-it-alls we should just listen to our own good sense :)

LOL the Hyprocrite diet! That's a good one. I'm certainly guilty of following that one more often than I like to admit. That said, I have found that when I do take my own advice I not only feel less stupid, I also benefit from it, too :)

Oh man, we'd all be so much better off if we lived by that rule...except I feel like on the whole humans are a more "do what I say, not as I do" species LOL. Only a few of us seem to be able to really lead by example.
