  • Should you even bother with pictures?

I'm really on the fence about before and after weight loss photos. Does it really help the rest of you who like to take them, or is it just something that you feel you should do? I personally hate being in photos, so the idea really doesn't appeal. Isn't there a better way for me to track pictures of myself than looking at photos?

I think before and after photos are a good way to track weight loss because it allows you to see it. That said, if you really hate taking/looking at pictures of yourself than there is no reason why you need to do it. Weigh yourself once a week instead. Seeing the decline in numbers on the scale may be better for you than taking dreaded pictures.

Honestly you should only do it if it is something that is of interest to you. Otherwise, there are other ways that you can track your weight. I personally am not a huge fan of doing it and when I did do it I really didn't find they pics did much for me. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. Don't worry about what other people do. The best way is what is right for you :)

It sounds to me like you're really on the fence about this, but since you're asking the question and looking for advice, it also sounds to me like you want to give the photos a shot. Why not just take some before and after photos, every week, for a couple of months and see if you like the results? You certainly don't have to show them to anyone and if you find out it give you no benefit at all, burn the photos and never take another pic again. It's that simple.

Thanks. I think that's exactly what I'll do. You're right, I really am on the fence about it. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for being supportive and understanding everyone :)
