  • weight loss adds up

I’m 10 weeks into my diet and although I’m only losing 1 to 2 pounds every week, I’ve still lost 15 pounds! It may not seem like much when you look at it week after week, but it really adds up so don’t get discouraged and keep going!

You're absolutely right. Weight loss is a longterm thing. It builds over time. You're not gonna lose it all overnight

I completely agree. if you set short term goals as well as long term goals, it will help you to realize how important it is to lose each one of those pounds.

That's a really good tip. WHen you feel like you're achieving something regularly, it's way easier to keep up your drive.

I think it's important to remind ourselves of this a lot more while dieting because it's hard to see the difference in the mirror because it's gradual.

That's the thing about dieting. Because it's gradual, it's really hard to see any difference in the mirror until there is a change in the way that clothing fits. Even then, it's so gradual that you sometimes don't even realize it. It's good to add up your total weight loss every now and again, instead of just looking at the fact that you only lost one or two pounds in a week. That shows you how far you've really come!

A ticker or a visual chart can oftne make a big difference, too.

Great advice. I always think of dieting like I think of long term investments. you'll have times where you do better and when you don't do as well but you have to look at the whole picture not just what's going on today.

You're right about that. I find that anything that I can see and track makes it easier. It's not always easy to see the difference in the mirror, but you can see it on paper so at least you feel that progress is being made. I need that or I lose drive to keep going.
