  • No juice

What is a great way to add a bit more sweet to a smoothie without using juice? I'm really trying to make healthy smoothies but I don't want to use juice because it adds way too much sugar. Any thoughts on what I could do?

almond milk, tea (black, green, herbal), or even just water.

Never tried almond milk. Does it have a taste? I'm only asking because I don't like the taste of almonds hahaha. Tea is an interesting idea. Never thought of that. Not interested in water...a little too boring. Want something with a bit of flavor.

Maybe try flavored water if you find regular water too boring...that said, shouldn't the ingredients you're adding to your smoothie help to give it flavor?? Do you really need to have something beyond water? I mean, I get people add juice for sugar and thickness and milk for thickness...but water is a pretty good fall back in my opinion.

I agree. Unless you actually want the liquid to provide some additional nutritional benefit, water is the best way to go. There are lots of other ways to get flavor.
