I really love pasta, but I know it's not the best for you. Is there a way to make healthy pasta? And please don't offer me noodle alternatives, for instance, I'm not looking for recipes with spiraled vegetables or eggplant Parmesan or lasagna, thanks :)

Sure! Make a veggie pasta and make sure your veggie ratio to past ratio is higher. I love making pasts with fresh vegetables in a tasty olive oil sauce. Yum!

I agree with Maggie. It's about making sure there's more veggies than pasta and avoiding pre-made and packaged sauces (include just plain tomato sauce) because they're full of sugar, salt and a bunch of other stuff to be flavorful. Another idea is to try fiber-enhanced pasta, so while it still tastes like white pasta it just a bit better for you.

Actually, I really like that fiber pasta. It's surprisingly good and it doesn't taste all hard, weird and unpleasant like whole wheat.

There's also one that's got a lot of green in it, too. That said, I don't think these pastas actually offer much health benefits. I have to agree that if you want pasta to be healthy, you just need to up the veggie content and try to avoid adding other carbs into the mix like breads.

Yup! Veggies all the way. Pasta is just a big ol' carb. There's nothing wrong with that, but if you want to up the healthy factor, it's definitely about adding more fiber and plant-based sources of protein. Personally, I love adding chickpeas to my pasta dishes :)

Thanks guys. I'll just up the veggie amount. Thank you for not suggesting spiralized veggies or some other weird pasta alternative LOL. Also I never thought of adding chickpeas to my pasta. Thanks for the suggestion Nelly! This could definitely be good if I want to not have a meat.
