    I was looking at my diet recently and I think it's pretty deficient in omega fatty acids. I looked online and saw that one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids is flax seed so I went out and bought some. Unfortunately, flax seed is not suggested to be eaten by pregnant women so I am back to square one.

    I cannot eat fish yet - it's a food aversion I developed in the second month so that's out. Can anyone suggest some other good sources of omegas that are ok for a prego person to eat.

    Big Mamma, thanks for these great suggestions. I have bought some walnuts and snack on a small handful every other day. I didn't realize mayonnaise has so much omegas in it. I was shocked when I looked at the nutritional info of the mayo I had in my fridge - who knew?

    I'm trying to follow a diet that was recommended for pregnant women. It recommends eating a minimum of this a week:

    - one quart of milk
    - two eggs
    - 1-2 servings of fish, beans or cheese
    - 1-2 servings of leafy greens, such as spinach
    - 2-3 slices whole wheat bread
    - citrus fruit or fruit juice
    - lots of fruit and veggies

    Of course, this isn't all that you eat, it's just things you should include. What do you think? Is there anything else (other than the omega foods above) I should be including?

      aside from eating walnuts, try some fruits and vegetables. they are rich in omega 3.

      cold water fish including herring, mackerel, sturgeon, and anchovies are very rich in omega 3.

        these are all delicious! but i usually drink coffee for breakfast. don't have much time to do all the cooking..
