  • Chickpeas roasted in the oven

So it turns out that chickpeas roasted in the oven are a great snack for high fiber, not too bad calories and great crunch and taste. Is there any other way to use them that is good like that? The roasted ones, I mean? Are they good on salads? Do they stay crispy if you put them in stir fries? Do chickpeas have a lot of protein like beans do?

I find they pretty much taste like nothing but if I put them in a spice mix they're a better snack than chips! They also work with those shake-on flavors they have for popcorn.

They're good on salads. Somewhat like having croutons. I wouldn't cook them into stir fries, but like someone else said, I'd sprinkle them on top at the end.

Other than high fiber what exactly are chickpeas good for in nutrition? Do they have anything else good in them or are they just fiber bombs?

Protein, iron, calcium, magnesium. They're good to have at any time of the day to fill you up, give you steady energy and even help balance your mood with that magnesium content. Just don't eat too many of them at once if your body isn't used to a lot of fiber. Ease into it LOL
