I learned something over the weekend that I wanted to share with all of you incase you didn't know. Apparently all forms of sugar are the same. Although they may come in different forms, refined white sugar, brown sugar, honey, Algave, etc., the actual sugar component in each of these is the same. One is not better for you than another. What makes honey different from refined sugar (for example) isn't it's sugar, but the fact that it contains other ingredients. So while these ingredients may offer you some health benefits that refined sugar lacks, in terms of its sweetness, honey isn't better for you. This is important to know, because a lot of people use alternatives to refined sugar thinking that this is better for them, when this is not necessarily the case.

What you said makes a lot of sense treehuggertodd. I still think that there is more benefit to choosing honey over refined sugar, simply because it contains other ingredients. However, sugar is sugar is sugar. Neither form of it is better or worse for you. So we should still watch how much of it we consume.
