I've got a question about tumeric, which I think is that stuff they put in mustard which makes it yellow and gives it its mustardy taste. My friend swears by the stuff and says it's really healthy. She even adds it to her smoothies. Is she right? Is it actually healthy? While I'm asking stuff, does anyone know if it's good for weight loss, as well?

haha I had no idea that it was tumeric that made mustard yellow. I always thought it was some sort of food dye And I had no idea it was good for you. Thanks for asking this question, I'm kind of interested to see what other people have to say about it.

Some studies have found that Tumeric may help prevent the the re-growth of fat after weight has been lost. That said, this study was done on mice, and hasn't been tested on humans. That said, it stills seems promising. Another way that tumeric may be helpful is that you can use it to flavor stuff, which can cut your sodium or prevent you from other sauces that can boost calories, and so on.

Thanks. I've been doing a little more research into it myself and I think it's definitely worth adding more of it to my foods. I find that a little bit does go a long way. I do like the taste of mustard, but I don't want everything I eat to have a mustard flavor hahaha.
