  • What tree nuts are the best for health

    Does anyone know which tree nuts are really good for you and what sort of nutritional value they offer to your diet. I know they are a healthy fat and you should watch how much you eat, but beyond not over-indulging, are they are good for weight loss at all?

    Lots of tree nuts are good for you - walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, and pistachios are all great nuts to include in your diet. Some studies have found that people who eat tree nuts on a regular basis are less likely to develop metabolic syndrom or become obese. This may sound odd cause tree nuts are high in fat, but they are also high in protein and fiber and other vitamins and minerals. That said, this doesn't mean you should sit down with a big bowl of pistachios and gorge. You only need a small amount of tree nuts to get the benefits you need from them, like enough to cover your palm or something like that LOL!

      I think walnuts, almonds, and pine nuts are best (all un-salted!!)

        I thought nuts were high in fat. Wouldn't eating pistachios and cashews not be good for your weight, especially if you ate them everyday

          Thank you very much for all of your suggestions and opinions. I'm glad to hear that tree nuts (and so many of them) are actually good for you and aren't so bad for weight loss.
