  • Weight loss help line

This may be a dumb questions, but is there a national weight loss helpline? You know like how they have it for addiction and gambling and all those things? If I'm feeling really low or I'm in need of motivation, is there any place I can call that can be helpful? I don't mind forums and things but sometimes I'd like to talk to a person.

That actually sounds like not a bad idea, but I don't think one exists. I mean, maybe if you joined a diet program like weight watchers or something that has a coach, this could provide you with a bit of what you're looking for. Maybe even calling a healthline? Essentially, there's a lot of things you could call about but not anything directly related to weight loss struggles.

Uh...I don't think something like that does exist. Those type of "help" lines are designed to help people who are struggled with physical or mental health problems. While being overweight can certainly cause these things, it's not a free call up and chat with someone kinda help thing. Maybe what you need is to find a weight loss coach or something like that. Someone you can talk to when you need some advice, want to vent or need a bit of a pep talk from. I doubt it's free though.

I guess that does make sense. Still, I think it would be a good idea, especially since obesity is practically an epidemic in the US.

Agreed. Weight loss should actually be given more attention than it gets. With the way our world looks at it, it's promoted more as a fad than an actual serious issue. Losing weight is hard and it's important. We need better resources and support.

This is true. I wonder how we would go about making this an issue...maybe message our state and city governments and demand it?
