    I keep reading that you should eat lots of fiber to lose weight but does your body build up a resistance to it or do you always need to have a bathroom near?

    your body will gradually build up a tolerance to fiber if you eat it regularly. So don't just start eating all extremely high fiber foods all day long if you have not had a high fiber diet in the past. Build up over time.

      That's exactly it. Dont' try to take in a huge amount of fiber all at the start. You'll just end up giving yoruself cramps and a lot of other problems in the bathroom. Add a little bit every day and gradually replace products with higher fiber versions.

        You really do get used to it as long as you do things gradually. I can eat a huge amount of fiber without any "side effects" from it, these days. I built up over time.

          Make sure that you just have a touch of fiber all day long instead of having a huge amount of it all in one dose.

            look into the kind of fiber you are eating. Remember that there is soluble and insoluble fiber so you want to make sure you're consuming a healthy balance.

              I've started sticking to higher fiber alternative products and they add flavor that isn't there in other products. Like high fiber pasta actually has taste so no extra salt is needed!
