  • oil vs butter

I just learned this little bit of information that freaked my freak. I learned that even though olive oil has good fats in it, you need to be REALLY careful how much you have of it. It has even more calories than butter! I thought butter had the most calories of anything! Nope, olive oil beat it.

I had no idea. You really come to think that butter is one of hte worst things and that olive oil is actually really good. I don't usually drench things in olive oil but I'm definitely going to be more careful about it from now on. At least its' lower in salt than butter and it's healthier overall. I didn't used to like the flavor of it but it is growing on me. It's a shame that butter tastes so amazing ha ha

Calories really aren't everything. Butter has way more saturated fat than olive oil. That means that it will be bad for your heart health, bad for your cholesterol, and it will be harder for you to lose weight eating that fat than olive oil.

Olive oil, when used in small amounts, is healthy and works with your body to make sure that it functions at its best. That means that you will be able to work out more easily and lose weight easier too.

i guess the only real thing that you can do to make sure that you're eating the right one is to mix both butter and olive oil together. THat'll make sure that you always choose the healthier and the lower calorie option at the same time. Somehow I think my doctor would disagree with this haha

Argh! I find this so confusing. Because if you are using only a tiny little bit, could that amount of olive oil really have any health benefits? Wouldn't it be better to use butter if using a really tiny amount, to keep calories down?

Is it just me who finds this really confusing? Haha

when it comes to fats even a little bit can have a big impact. So even if you pick the olive oil with the higher number of calories, you're still doing better things for your weight because of the type of fat that it is.

True...but it's still complicated enough that my head just spun around
