  • Tips to boost weight loss

I’m not a weight loss expert, but I do know that every little bit counts so I thought I’d share some good tips with you:

    - Pay attention to when you start feeling satisfied by your meal. Just as you START to feel satisfied, stop eating. After 10 minutes, you’ll feel far more full than you do right now. You just have to give it time to kick in.

    - Eat more slowly! That will make the above tip easier.

    - Do active things. If you can walk there, walk. Use a smaller glass when you’ve got a beverage so that you need to get up and refill more. When you are cleaning the house, dance! When you’re walking somewhere, walk a bit faster than you usually would. When you feel sleepy in the day, do 10 jumping jacks!

Those are some great tips. Those are the types of tips that I like to learn because they work with any diet no matter what kind of food you're eating or what sort of exercise plan you're on.

I'd like to add that if you replace one beverage with calories in it (soda, juice, coffee with milk, etc) per day with a glass of water instead, you can save the equivalent calories of a small snack in a lot of cases.

Don't sit too long. It makes you too tired to stay active. If you have a job where you're supposed to sit all the time, get up and stretch every 20 minutes or so. It's also good for blood circulation.

It's funny how being lazy makes you even lazier. It's good to make a habit of going out every day and exercising just so that you do it. That way you don't think about it, you just go. The laziness can't get you that way haha

A good way to pay attention to your portion is to eat so you're not hungry, not eat till you're full.

It took me forever to learn this. I think the reason I gained weight in the first place was that I felt that if I wasn't full, I was still hungry! It's an important lesson.

That is one of those little details that is easy to miss. Sauces and condiments seem like they're so small that they don't really count. Like it's hard to believe how many calories are in those specialty coffees. I have huge meals that are lighter in calories than those!

It's true and if you're having an omelet, just add mushrooms, tomatoes, and herbs and you'll never know you're "cutting back"

Eat your dinner 5 hours before you sleep. They say that metabolism is slow while we sleep.
