  • where to find studies

If I want to research a diet or diet pill (or ingredients), where do I find the studies that show the research that has been done?

have you tried doing some research through Google Scholar? I have had a lot of luck finding out which journals have published studies about various ingredients, technologies, etc.

I find that you can get a lot of studies at Science Daily. Those aren't the originals, but they're rewritten in regular English so they're a lot easier to understand. Essentially, you get the gist of what the study was all about. They have a good search box on the site, too, so if you just plug in the name of the product or ingredient you were hoping to learn about, it'll provide you with a list so that you can see if there is anything useful.

Otherwise, the best idea is to check the online databases for the medical and scientific journals so you can see what was published in those areas. Sometimes all you need to read is the abstract to find out what the study conclusions were.

I agree with that in terms of accuracy. But it's important to remember that they are making the product so they want it to sell, so they won't be entirely objective. This is a great place for getting the info from the horse's mouth, but you also need to look elsewhere to learn more about the horse.
