  • Do smells make you hungrier?

I’ve been thinking about what makes me hungry, and I know that I feel starving when I smell bacon or if I smell hamburgers on the barbecue. I also know that there are aromatherapy things that are meant to help you to lose weight.

This being the case, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are actually smells that make you hungrier than you actually are, and if there are anti-aromatherapy smells that cause you to gain weight or that harm weight loss.

    Definitely!

They don't just make me hungriER, but they also make me hungry when I wouldn't normally be. Like you, I have certain aromas that are real weak spots for me.

I find that even if I wasn't feeling hungry at all, if I go by a bakery that smells like fresh bread, I'll suddenly be starving and I'll start thinking about what I want to eat.

I guess that sort of thing must be great advertising for bakeries hahaha. I wonder how many purchases i some food stores are based on scent alone!
