I just went for a walk outside in the sun instead of on the treadmill and I feel way more energized even though I walked for 15 more minutes than I do on my treadmill program. I think sunlight (under the protection of sunscreen) must be good for weight loss!

Sunlight for weight loss

I don't think it's really a direct connection between sunlight and weight loss, but you're right, there is some connection.
I feel much more inclined to get out and exercise when it's sunny out, and I'll go for a longer bike ride or walk when I'm out there. I'll also go out more than once!

I wonder if Vitamin D might have something to do with it, since your body makes vitamin D when you're exposed to the sun, and I know that a lot of vitamins are associated with being able to lose weight easier. Maybe that's the case with this one.
Either way, it puts you in a good mood, so that makes it a lot easier to diet. Nothing's harder than trying to stick to a low cal diet plan when you're feeling down in the dumps.

I come to life after I take a walk. If I am finding myself unproductive or if I am getting tired, a walk that is even as short as 5 to 10 minutes is enough to get me thinking clearly and motivated again.
It's especially effective outside. I know that walking in the sun is a spirit brightener, but even if it's after dark, it still works. I feel completely rejuvenated and can sit down and focus again.

I actually read this post last week for the first time and didn't say anything because it sounded like bologna to me. It sounded like some touchy feely fluff that people say to try to motivate you to go outside when you don't want to.
Then I went outside for a little while to help my neighbor shovel the driveway after the big storm that just passed through the area and I have to say that the physical activity and the sunlight made a big difference.
The only reason that I'm posting now is because I figure that if there is anyone else out there reading this with the same attitude that I had last week, it might make them give it a try and realize that sunlight actually does inspire more activity and more fun while you're doing it!

If you can't go out but it's sunny, try doing some stretches or yoga in front of a window where there is a lot of light. It's not quite the same, but you can get some benefit that way, too. I also find that just opening the window a little (even in the winter) and breathing the fresh air for a few minutes can help to calm things down and refresh me.

I changed my office around so that i'm sitting closer to the window and the light shines in on me. What a difference! I feel energized and am way more likely to feel like eating healthy and - more especially - I walk a lot more at lunchtime because i have the drive to get up and move around! I think I'm solar powered
