  • convert to whole grains

If you want to make your diet a whole lot more effective with one simple change, then start to look for whole grain alternatives to the foods you’re already eating. This will help you get the most out of your carbs because whole grains are higher in nutrients and fiber than white flour.

So the next time you’re shopping for spaghetti, bread, or even pizza dough, look for the whole grain option so that you don’t have to feel as guilty about eating carbs.

That's a really great idea, but I find that whole grain/whole wheat pasta tastes gritty or sandy. Any way around that?

I had the same problem for a while until a friend told me that just like with regular standard pasta, not all whole wheat/whole grain pasta is created equal.

If you don't like one brand, try a few others because you might have better luck with them. I found that a lot of them tasted fibrous or sandy, but I have found a couple that are quite smooth. I alternate between one that is alright from the grocery store, and one that is amazing from the health food store.

      Just keep trying!
