Does loose skin go away?

If I lose a lot of weight and I have loose skin, will that ever go away or does it stay there forever? Is there anything that can be done about it?

Depending on how much you have, some of it may shrink with time. That said, if there is a lot of loose leftover skin, the only way you might ever get rid of it is through surgery.

Some might, but if you've got lots, and I mean lots like you're tucking it into your pants lots, it won't go away. You'll need to have surgery to remove it, unfortunately. Skin that's been super stretched for super long doesn't bounce back like an elastic unfortunately.

Unfortunately it really doesn't. It's like stretchmarks, you'll carry them for the rest of your life. If you're struggling finding the good in this, remind yourself that the lose skin you have is a sign of your courage, your strength and your ability to achieve a goal. It's a physical scar of a real life battle. I know that might not bring you much comfort at first, but you need to look for the positive. Focusing on the negative isn't going to do anything for you.

Bleh...I thought that might be the case. I guess I'll just hope for the best that time will help to take some of it away and learn to love the rest of it
