  • Patience techniques

One of the hardest things that I’ve found with just about any diet – even the best ones – is that I got really impatient. It sucks when things don’t go really fast and when you hav ea lot of weight to lose, it can be really hard to have to wait months or even more than a year to lose all of it.

So I have found that there are some things that can help to boost patience for weight loss. The first one is short term goals. If you feel like you’re working toward a lot of smaller victories, then you will feel more motivated to keep going.

The second one is to treat yourself now and again. If you don’t get a prize or reward, why try? Overall health and one day looking better is difficult to use as motivation when you’re starving and tired.

I find that the more things that I can do to monitor success, the better. Like when I use a pedometer and achieve my daily or weekly goal. Even if I haven't lost 10 pounds or something crazy like that in a week, at least I know that I achieved a smaller goal.

That's very good advice. Goal setting and monitoring progress are some of the best ways to boost motivation and keep your patience for the entire length of the diet.

use charts. If you chart on graph paper or using a computer program it's way better than just looking at the numbers. THen it's illustrated as progress.
