I think it’s important for people to really start realizing that it’s not all fats that cause you to gain weight and that some fats can actually help you to lose weight. After all, if you think about it, when “low fat” products came to the market, that’s when obesity really exploded across the country. It’s not about cutting fats. It’s about eating the right ones and cutting the bad ones. Eliminate trans fats as much as possible and boost omega 3s, which actually help the body to oxidize fat for easier weight loss and you’ll find that dieting becomes a lot easier. These little understandings go a long way.

The good fats that you get through natural sources like foods are a lot more effective than those that you take through supplements. For example, if you eat salmon, the omega 3 fatty acids are far better for you than taking omega-3 or fish oil supplements. That said, the supplements are better than nothing.
