So I’ve got the hang of the fact that there are good fats and bad fats and I’ve got a pretty good idea of what they are and where I can get my good fats and how to avoid them. But is there still a certain limit that I should put on good fats? Should I still be eating a bare minimum of them or am I supposed to eat a lot of them because they’re so good for me?

I find good fats very confusing. I’m not exactly sure what to think of them because I’ve spent my whole life thinking all fats are bad and thinking that anything “low fat” is a healthy product. Now I know that’s not right but I haven’t figured out all the details about it. Any help is appreciated

I find that a bit confusing, too, but if you use calories as your guide, then it should help you out. As long as you know that you're eating good fats and not the bad ones, then you should use them to balance with the rest of your nutrition and just make sure they fit in your calorie count.

The reason I find that helpful is that you'll notice that good fats still have a high calorie count. So if you want to be able to eat a lot in a day, you'll still use these only moderately.

Just have a little bit of it every day. Even good fats are really high in calories and should be eaten in moderation.

I think the good fats are the one the comes from fish oils and vegetable. Then there are the so-called bad fats—those apparently artery-clogging saturated fats from meat and dairy products.

You can get all of the good fats you need by eating oily fish three times per week and supplementing the rest of the time. Learn a lot of great recipes to go with it and it will help you get lots of the omegas and the other nutrients that go with them. It's better to get your good fats through whole foods than it is to try to get them through supplements, but they will do the trick when you're not eating the whole foods because nobody can eat fish every single day and it's not really good for you to do that anyway.
