  • How to get rid of stretch marks??

Here I am sitting with my BF and my shirt is slightly riding up and the skin on my side is a bit exposed and he so eloquently says "oh you have little lines on your skin, what are those?" and then he goes to touch them.
I frantically look down and to my horror- yep stretch marks. I have never had them until now. Does anyone know if you can get rid of them? Creams, lotions, potions, anything?

Ugh! I know what you mean. After all that weight loss and you finally love your body and BLEH, ugly little wiggly lines in your skin.

I have had them since I lost a lot of weight. They're on the back of my knees, up my thighs, and on my sides below the hip (I lost most of my weight on my butt/thighs).

There are no creams that will eliminate them. They will fade out in color over time, so if yours are red now, they will become more pale as the months/years go on. The little ridges will remain, though. Most of the creams and other lotions out there are designed to have a "plumping" action so that the skin stretches a bit and pulls the stretch marks flatter. That's a temporary solution, but there really isn't anything on the market that will eliminate them altogether.

If I'm wrong, please, someone post something that will correct me because I'd LOVE to get rid of mine!

Thanks Bonniekins I figured there was not much I could do but nice to know others are in the same boat. Mine are not red, probably why I didn't notice them myself. They are pretty pale but are there nonetheless...

I see commercials for products to get rid of stretch marks all the time on television. Even if they don't cure them, if you just want to hide them a bit, then they can probably help you out if you find a good one.

That said, I really can't say that they bother me. I've seen them on women in different places and I really don't see what the big deal is all about. Real women don't look like magazines. Those pictures are computer enhanced. You've got to stop being so hard on yourselves. Flaws are going to happen. It's just better to be healthy. That's a lot more attractive.

When a woman is healthy and in good shape, you're not looking at a few crinkly lines.

That's a good attitude, KraftyJo. I'm going to try working on that for me, too, but I'm pretty vain haha.

Does anyone know any products that work for hiding stretch marks, even if it is temporary?

Oh I know I hate stretch marks. bah. do men get them too or is it just another thing we women get? I would try some vitamin E cream as that helps diminish the look of scars so I don't see why it wouldn't work on stretch marks too.

I have been using dermalmd stretch mark cream for last 4 months and the stretch marks have reduced considerably on my arms. the marks are barely noticeable. It is a good product
