  • I'm in a bad mood a lot when I diet

    I'm always reading about how people starting a great diet are energized and feeling fantastic. I find myself feeling tired and in such a bad mood. I'm eating healthy and not doing any fad diets. I'm exercising almost every day. What am I doing wrong? I'm so grouchy!

    That's not fun! Are you getting enough to eat all day long? You're not fad dieting, but are you hungry during the day? Maybe your food balance needs to be redistributed. Are you drinking enough water to stay hydrated? Could your mood be affected by something other than your dieting? This is a rough time of year.

      Bleh! Is it the diet or that it's february? I always find it rough during february. It's time to reward yourself for all your effort! Come up with a fun way to celebrate that you've come this far. That might boost you up :)

          You're either following the wrong diet or you need to hang in there. Have you told your doctor you feel like this? Maybe they can get you a counseling session to help you figure it out.
