Identify food-pushy family members ahead of all parties. Come up with strategies for avoiding the additional foods they try to push on you before you enter the building. Make them friendly but decisive. If they insist on putting something in your hand or on your plate, do not eat it. This will be a gift to you and may stop a second round or food being pushed on you later.
