I'm confused about the healthiness of beef for a person and for the environment. If I get beef from here in the US, is it really so bad for the environment? Is it really so bad for me? I'm starting to see some studies that show it's not as bad for us as we used to think, but what about the world? They're both important and they both say what is going to happen to our health long term. I'm having a hard time figuring out facts from speculation.

If you're worried, it doesn't hurt to cut back. But having soem beef maybe once a week isn't going to make your health or the world end. If you're really concerned, find grass-fed pasture raised or even organic. It costs more but if you're eating way less of it then it will even out and at least you'll know you're doing your part.

North American beef isn't the worst. But ya, it's a factor. I'd say just cut back gradually until you reach a point you're comfortable with. Be aware of where your meat comes from. If it's a tiny farm that pastures its animals, you will do a lot more for your health and the environment than if you support factory farming.
