  • Will this ever end?

I know it's been only like two months since the pandemic really started wreaking havoc on our daily lives but I feel like there's no end in sight. Will things ever go back to normal? I mean, I get that stores will open up eventually but we can't social distance forever, right?

I think what we're going through will end but I think it will also define a new normal. Kinda like after 9/11 I don't think life will go back to as it was before. Until there is a vaccine and they know the virus is under control, I think we'll be looking at social distancing, less travel, and more temperature checks for a long time to come.

It will, but I think the world will be changed forever. For too long we've been coating along without giving any thought to pandemics because modern medicine has kept us pretty safe. However, new diseases will popup and not all of them will be treatable by the medicine we currently have. Yes, that sucks and it's horrifying, but it's reality. Pandemics happen. They have since the dawn of time. We were really overdue. All we can do is the best we can to protect ourselves and others.

I agree. Things will get better. I think it's just hard for us to cope with it because, well, we've been spoiled for decades. We're used to getting what we want when we want it and when that isn't possible and it drags on for longer than we like, we start to panic because our world is different. Personally, I just hope that we don't have to deal with superbug after superbug. Once COVID has passed we can have a break for a couple of decades.

It will end but I think the social distancing thing will be around for a while yet. Until they find a vaccine, there's really nothing else we can do but stay as safe as possible. The biggest issue right now, I find, is that people are too selfish to simply listen to the rules and keep their distance. Yes, it sucks, but acting like spoiled brats is only going to make things worse. I think we should all be thankful that we live in the age with internet and be glad that we aren't going to war...

I totally understand and feel as you do. I was optimistic at first, but the longer this drags on, the longer I have a hard time imagining it ever coming to an end or things ever returning to somewhat normal. I mean, when I watch TV now and see shows with people just being around others and touching others with no worries, no masks, etc. it's starting to feel a little painful. I never thought that something we once took for granted in our daily lives could seem so far out of reach.

I know. Things are opening up a little bit where I live now, but I really can't wait until we can go back to just visiting with our families normally. The rest of it wouldn't seem so bad if you could just hug your loved ones that you don't live with instead of treating them almost like diseased strangers when you do get to see them.
