  • brushing your teeth

I’m not trying to sound silly or anything but if I eat a meal, wait a half hour or an hour, and then brush my teeth, for some reason, I can go for a far longer period of time without eating than I would without doing that.

I can’t brush my teeth right away after the meal if I want it to work. I have to wait a little bit. That’s fine anyway since I won’t be hungry for the first hour after eating so that’s not the “problem zone”. By brushing my teeth after that, I can go longer without getting hungry.

Good point, Suzie. Who'd have thought that proper oral hygiene is actually one of the most important ways to help yourself to battle hunger so that you won't want to eat as much! That's a great trick and it's something that everybody can do.

Heck, even if it doesn't work, at least it helps in making sure that we don't get cavities haha.

    Thanks again for the tip!

I think that you're not supposed to brush your teeth too often every day, though. So you should be careful at how much you scrub away to fight off hunger. You could end up hurting your gums!

Two times is good, three times is good as long as you're gentle, but don't brush more than that.

I've heard that, too. you're also not supposed to brush your teeth immediately after eating, because acid levels are too high or something like that. I can't remember. I just know that you're supposed to wait a half hour. That should be fine though since you wouldn't need to brush you rteeth to fight hunger within a half hour of eating!

At least it's good that if you brush your teeth before bed, you might be less likely to midnight snack!
