  • good bacteria vs. bad bacteria

I’ve been hearing a lot about two things. The first is that there is good bacteria in your body and bad bacteria. The good bacteria is important for things like digestion and that’s why they say yogurt is good for you, since you’ll digest better and get more nutrients out of your food.

The second is that the better you digest, the faster you’ll lose weight.

Does this mean that 1- eating things like yogurt that have good bacteria in them will help with weight loss?

And does this mean that 2 – by using antibiotic medications and bacteria killing products, you could hurt your weight loss?

I've heard that there are some antibiotics that do have weight gain as a possible side effect, so maybe that's the reason. It's best not to take those or use any antibacterial products unless you absolutely have to, anyway.

I mean, if you work in a hospital, you have young children, or you visit an elderly person a lot, go nuts with the hand sanitizer, but otherwise, you're only helping to create superbugs and aren't really offering yourself a tremendous amount of protection against the regular ones.

I think plain yogurt that has live bacterial culture is very good for weight loss, as long as it doesn't contain any sugar or artificial sweetener. If you need it sweetened, just toss in some berries and squash them up.

Probiotics are the super great ones that will really help to make a difference in your health. You can get them in some yogurts and yogurt drinks as well as some other products, but supplementation is also possible if you want to take advantage of everything they have to offer but you also don't know if you'll be able to eat in the exact right way every day. They're not too pricy, so it makes it easy to get the benefits of the good bacteria.

Your entire body can benefit from probiotics. Your skin, your immune system, pretty much everything. Now, they're starting to be linked with being able to battle obesity. Scientific studies are coming up with results that are connecting proper doses of probiotics (either through supplementation or from foods like fermented foods and yogurt) with the ability to stave off obesity. Clearly, our bad eating habits aren't keeping the right gut flora balance for us to be at our healthiest, because when we focus on adding it at the right levels, it makes a big difference.

Even beyond weight loss they're very good for your health. You should really pay attention to your probiotics not just because they help you to shed more weight but also because they boost your immune system and do other important things for your body. This will help you to feel more energized and feel more healthy overall. It's very good for you.
