I am new here but am glad to see there are some active people around. My goal is to lose about 50 pounds, but I have no idea how long it will take. I have a wonderufl supportive family and each day I bless myself for that. I hope some of you can help me figure out the best ways to lose weight and get healthier. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, it's nice to see some new faces. What is your plan to lose weight? Are you planning on following a diet?
This weekend I picked up The Gabriel Method book and started reading that. I found it really inspiring and helpful. It's not a diet that tells you what to eat - instead it teaches you how to eat. I recommend it.

At first you must admit that 3-4pounds weight-loss is possible in a week.So get ready for a long war to win.
The things you have to keep in mind are:
1. A balanced diet between fat, carbohydrate and protein.
2.Always eat organic food.
3.Take meal 5-6 times daily.
4.Do yoga breathing exercises(search through youtube)
5.Sleep 7-8 hours daily.
6.Consume gallon of water after every meal.
7.be focused don't give up hope.
There are few more things to do.More on next time.

I feel really terrible. I meant to start dieting after new years but haven't yet. i'm so disappointed i can't tell you. can anyone help me? where do i start, how do i start. i just don't have the motivation or something. how do you get over this?
