  • Mother looking forward to shedding pounds

Hi all. I'm Noemi, and a newbie here. I just gave birth a few months ago to a very healthy bouncing baby boy. As much as I am glad to have this baby, I'm also worried I won't be able to shed these pounds anymore. Looking forward to learning and hearing from other members here!

Hi Noemi, and welcome to the forum :)

Although I haven't had any children myself I have many friends who have and their stories are similar to yours. Losing weight after a baby, though, is no more difficult than losing weight any other time. You will need to focus on eating a healthy diet that is lower in calories. If you are still breastfeeding then you should discuss with your doctor how many calories would be right for you to be consuming every day. Also, start exercising. Having a new baby makes finding time for yourself tough, but perhaps there are activities you can do together, such as walking or jogging (baby in a stroller, of course).

I am looking forward to participating in the forum with you. Keep me posted how your weight loss is going and let me know if you need any help.

But before deciding anything, whatever you do please consult your doctor. Ask for his /her advise.
