  • Desperate for help!

Hi my name is Cassie. I have been trying for many years to lose weight without any success. I have tried all the fad diets with little success. I am hoping to find another alternative that will help me with my problem. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I am 50+ years old and desperate to better my health. I am very limited on the exercises that I can do due to my weight but I am willing to try anything at this point to better my situation.

What is your approach to losing weight?

    Hi Cassie

Thank you for sharing your weight loss experiences with us.

I hope it is not too personal to ask, but what do you think are the factors in your life that prevent you from losing weight, other than the inability to exercise very much? Is your diet healthy? Do you struggle with portion control or snacking during the day?

I understand your situation about being limited when it comes to exercise. I would recommend you try taking up some low-impact activities, such as swimming or aquacise if you have a local pool nearby. Also, I know a number of people who use stationary recumbant bicycles for exercise who have bad knees and hips. They say these bicycles don't cause them discomfort and give them a good workout.

Yes, I too have tried a bunch of fad diets and none have worked. Most of the time I find I just can't follow the program rules and I give up. Now, I just follow my own diet plan and monitor what I eat and how much every day.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask . Have a great day!

      Calorie counting

I have lost 1 and a 1/4 stone in 4 months just calorie counting, its slow but makes u so very aware of what ur eating and its changed my eating habbits. I find that filling half my plate with green stuff at dinner time (either veg or salad) really helps. It gave me wind for a while but it fills u up and just having a small portion of what my family r eating really works for me. Breakfast is the meal i look forward to the most (just 2 slices of toast) cause i'm normally hungry after having so much green stuff the night before. I always keep a packet of plain biscuits for them hungry moments just before bed and i only have 1 (about 50 calories). In the day time i snack on fruit if i'm really hungry but I dont class fruit or salad or veg as any calories at all (they r but its so small i dont count them).

      Good luck XX
